Maritime administration of Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon Newport Corporation signed coordination regulations

On November 16th, at Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal, Maritime Administration of Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) signed coordination regulations on data exchange, maritime safety and security, explosion prevention and environmental pollution prevention.




The regulations will help the implementation of planning, scheduling ships, pilots, tugboats; exchanging data, documents and situations; maritime safety and securities activities; preventing fire, explosion and environmental pollution; operating, supervising port infrastructure of SNP in Ho Chi Minh City waters; investigating maritime accidents, salvaging and rescuing; disseminating laws…

At the signing ceremony, Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Nghiem – President of SNP – stated: “The signing of coordination regulations is a typical example between an authorized management agency and a company. Maritime Administration of HCMC and SNP has long been in close coordination; the Maritime Administration of HCMC gives directions and guides to companies, and has accompanied SNP in reaching its position today. This signing ceremony confirms the coordination as a legal document.”

Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Nghiem also stated: “SNP also signed coordination regulations with Maritime Administration of Vung Tau, Fire Police Department of HCMC, Traffic Police Department, and relevant management departments at Tan Cang – Cam Ranh International Port for military ships receiving… SNP will sign coordination regulations with Maritime Administration of Can Tho to ensure ship safety going through Quan Chanh Bo Channel. The signing between two units will have good effects on Ho Chi Minh City channel management as the regulations mention the coordination between authority agency and company in rescue and salvage activities, as well as safety assuring.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam – Director of Maritime Administration of HCMC – appreciated SNP’s leading role in port and maritime service development. The signing of coordination regulation between an authorized management agency and a company is to facilitate each other in completing tasks. Through the regulations, on behalf of Maritime Administration of HCMC, Mr. Nam hopes that SNP will continue to support in rescue and salvage activities, maritime safety and environmental pollution prevention in HCMC waters.
