Tan Cang Pilot: Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Port welcomes a 5-star cruise ship for the first time

On the morning of December 11, 2017, the 5-star cruise ship Seven Seas Voyager first arrived at Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal in Ho Chi Minh City, marking Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal's capacaaity to receive large and diverse vessels.

Welcoming the crew and tourists to visit Ho Chi Minh City were Mr. Ngo Minh Thuan, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation and officers and employees of the Corporation and Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal. The ship is of Bahamian nationality, length 206.5 m, width 28.83 m, height 56.1 m, draft 7.05 m, maximum capacity of 700 passengers, crew of 450 people. The ship's itinerary is from Yangon (Myanmar) - Koh Samu, Khlong Toei (Thailand) - Hochiminh - Nha Trang - Sanya with services: Sightseeing, tourism, hotel, entertainment.

The appearance of the first 5-star ship entering Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal is a major turning point for the maritime industry in the Southern region, demonstrating the smooth coordination of Tan Cang Pilot, Captain and crew. Mr. Cao Xuan Dung, Director of Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal, said that: “In order to organize the reception of ships as planned, Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal quickly added appropriate infrastructure and equipment; At the same time, fully review and evaluate environmental impacts, fire and explosion prevention, and seaport security to be eligible to receive tourist ships according to international standards. Coordinate with Maritime Administration of Ho Chi Minh City to develop a plan to receive tourist ships with technical specifications suitable to port conditions such as: Channels, water areas, turning basins... according to regulations of Decree No. 58/2017/ND-CP dated May 10, 2017 of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam detailing a number of articles of the Vietnam Maritime Code.”
