General Director Nguyen Dang Nghiem and the Board of Directors, along with employees and soldiers of Saigon Newport Company, Mitsui O.S.K Lines (Japan) and numerous representatives of shipping lines, forwarding companies, and customers import and export goods, the Japan Trade Promotion Association, the captain and crew of the ship named MOL Premium happily welcome the first ship arriving at Tan Cang Cai Mep Port - MOL Premium ship belonging to Mitsui O.S.K Lines with a length of 293 m ship and carrying capacity of 6,350 Teus, gross tonnage of 75,000 DWT. This is also the largest ship ever to arrive in Vietnam.
 
Located in Tan Phuoc Commune, Tan Thanh District, Ba Ria Vung Tau Province, Tan Cang Cai Mep Port has a scale of 900 m when completed, a berth for ships of 80,000 DWT; 60 hectares of beach. The port put into operation is Tan Cang-Cai Mep Port, phase 1 of Tan Cang-Cai Mep Joint Stock Company (belonging to Saigon Newport Company). The highlight is that this project mainly uses self-balancing capital of Saigon Newport Company, with a total investment of nearly 1,200 billion VND. The port has a total area of ​​20.5ha, 01 main wharf 300m long, 45.5m wide, and 3 berths that can receive ships with a tonnage of up to 80,000 DWT. The depth in front of the wharf reaches -15.8 m. The pier is equipped with 03 specialized container loading and unloading cranes of Post Panamax type with a lifting capacity of 65 tons, able to simultaneously load and unload 2 20-foot containers, 10 RTG 6 1 cranes specialized for loading and unloading. containers in the yard, lifting capacity 40 tons, 5 floors high, 10 tractors with technology system, modern container port management software up to international standards - software called TOPX provided by RBS Company (Australia) - A company specializing in port software. The designed capacity of Port Phase 1 is 650,000 Teu/year. Tan Cang-Cai Mep Terminal has a connection system at Tan Cang, Cat Lai, ICDs in Ho Chi Minh City, Song Than ICD in Binh Duong and Long Binh ICD in Bien Hoa, Dong Nai creating a fully connected Logistics system. adjusted to serve the delivery of goods in the city area. Besides providing port operation and freight forwarding services, Tan Cang-Cai Mep as deep-water terminal also provides towing services with 03 tugboats with a total capacity of 7,700 HP serving to tow large vessels. in and out of the wharf, barge transport service with a fleet of 15 barges with a total carrying capacity of over 700 Teu serving the transportation of containers from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Mep, pilot services. Tan Cang Pilot Company with a team of experienced, enthusiastic and responsible pilots has received the decision of the Vietnam Maritime Administration to allow the ship to enter Tan Cang-Cai Mep Terminal.

Saigon Newport Company is also urgently building another 600 m of wharf and 40 hectares of yard to operate jointly with Hanjin Shipping, Mitsui O.S.K Lines and Wanhai Lines by the end of 2010. In the immediate future, the Company will complete the operation. Complete 50m wharf by the end of August 2009 to be able to receive ships with LOA over 300m to the Terminal.
